Spend Analytics - Setting up and viewing KPIs

All configured KPIs are visible via KPIs in the left-hand menu. Creating a new KPI requires the appropriate permissions. KPIs can be added to dashboard reports. Spend Community enables anonymous benchmarking with other organisations.

1. Purpose of this article

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) provide insight into the performance of the procurement organisation, measured against user-defined standards. This article describes how to view and create KPIs in Spend Analytics.

2. Viewing KPIs

Go to:
Spend Analytics > KPIs

The overview shows all configured KPIs, including for each KPI:

  • The configured standard
  • The associated cost centre group, cost centre, category and/or cost type

Click a KPI for detailed information.

3. Setting up a KPI

3.1 Required permissions

Only users with the appropriate permissions can create KPIs. If the Add button is not visible, contact the internal ISPnext administrator.

3.2 Steps

  1. Go to Spend Analytics > KPIs.
  2. Click Add in the top right.
  3. Under KPI, select the desired KPI type.
  4. Complete the form.
  5. Click Add.

The KPI is now active and tracks statistics based on the selected settings. KPIs can be added to reports in the dashboard.

4. Excluding a supplier for a KPI type

It is possible to exclude a specific supplier for a particular KPI type. This is useful when a supplier is not representative of the standard that applies to that KPI type.

  1. Go to Spend Analytics > KPIs and open the desired KPI.
  2. Find the supplier in the overview.
  3. Click the supplier and set the exclusion.

5. Spend Community - benchmarking

Go to:
Spend Analytics > Spend Community

Here, it is possible to compare your own KPIs and performance anonymously with those of other organisations that are members of the Spend Community. No organisation data is shared.
