1. Purpose of this article
Spend Analytics provides insight into all of the organisation's expenditure. This article describes how to access the module and how basic navigation works.
2. Logging in
Log in via the standard ISPnext login screen using a username and password. If Single Sign On (SSO) has been configured for the organisation, logging in takes place automatically via that route.
The ISPnext login details may differ from the login details for Windows or other corporate environments. Consult the internal ISPnext administrator if it is unclear which method applies.
2.1 Logging in for the first time
When using the system for the first time, no password has been set yet. Click Logging in for the first time? below the login form and follow the steps to set a password yourself.

2.2 Forgotten password
Click Forgotten password? below the login form. An email will then be sent allowing you to set a new password.

Has the email not arrived? Also check your junk email folder. If it still does not work, contact the internal ISPnext administrator.
3. Navigating Spend Analytics
After logging in to ISPnext, Spend Analytics can be found at the top of the page. All sections are accessible via the left-hand menu; the content is displayed in the right-hand section of the screen.
3.1 Setting the period
Filters for setting the year and period (from month to month) are located at the top left of the screen. All overviews and charts are updated immediately after the period is changed.
3.2 Overview of the menu sections

| ABC | ABC classification of suppliers and/or categories based on expenditure volume (A = largest volume, C = smallest). |
| Suppliers | Overview of all suppliers. Columns can be configured; data can be exported to Excel. |
| Categories | Overview of expenditure by category, with the option to drill down to supplier information for each category. |
| Cost types | Insight into volumes by cost type over two years, including differences between them. |
| Organisation | Expenditure structured based on the organisational structure of the environment (companies, cost centres, cost objects). |
| Companies | Expenditure by company division or legal entity, with the option to drill down to main categories for each company. |
| Cost centre groups | Expenditure by cost centre group, including the expenditure volume within and outside the contract for each group. |
| Cost centres | Expenditure by individual cost centre, for example as top cost centres based on volume. |
| Cost objects | Expenditure by cost object: the object to which costs are directly allocated (machine, vehicle, department). |
| Projects | Expenditure by project, relevant when costs are allocated to specific projects. |
| Geo | Geographical overview of expenditure, by province/municipality (the Netherlands) or by country (world map). |
| Process Analysis | Insight into processing times and backlogs for requests, invoices, matching and approvals. |
| Compliance analysis | Analysis of compliance with procurement policy: share of expenditure through contracted suppliers and use of permitted threshold values. |
| KPIs | Overview of all configured KPIs with the corresponding standard, cost centre group, cost centre, category and/or cost type. |
| Budgets | Comparison of actual expenditure with established budgets by cost centre (group) or period. |
| Spend Community | Anonymous benchmark of your own KPIs and performance compared with other participating organisations. |
4. Summary
- Log in using a username and password or SSO, depending on the organisation's settings.
- When using the system for the first time: click Logging in for the first time? to set a password.
- Spend Analytics can be found at the top of the page after logging in to ISPnext.
- All sections are accessible via the left-hand menu; period filters determine which data is visible.
