Introduction
AP Automation and Procurement are cloud applications. Like google.com, for example, they are opened in a browser. If a delay is caused by the application itself, all users experience it to the same extent, whether they are an approver or a member of the accounts payable team.
If the application is slow for only some users, the cause usually lies in the organisation's own environment. This article describes what you can check yourself before creating a ticket.
What you can check yourself
1. At home or at the office
Does the delay affect colleagues at the office as well as colleagues working from home? Then switch off the VPN at home and open AP Automation or Procurement directly via the home network. If the application is fast then, ask the IT department to check whether, for example, a virus scanner or firewall is causing the delay.
At the office, the reverse is possible: connect via a mobile phone hotspot and compare the speed.
2. Other web applications
Are other web applications, such as google.com, slow as well? Then the cause most likely lies in the network. The IT department can investigate this further.
3. Citrix
Do the users experiencing the delay work via Citrix? Then check whether the delay also occurs when they work outside Citrix.
4. Cost invoices or logistics invoices
Do cost invoices load normally while the delay only occurs with logistics invoices? Then check whether the ERP server is under heavy load. For AX2012, D365 and in most cases SAP, among others, orders are retrieved from the ERP system in real time.
Supported web browsers
The web interface is actively tested on the browsers below. Use a supported and up-to-date version.
| Browser | Recommended version | Updating the browser |
|---|---|---|
| Google Chrome | 154.x or higher | Click the three vertical dots in the top right and select Help > About Google Chrome. |
| Microsoft Edge | 154.x or higher | Click the three horizontal dots in the top right and select Help and feedback > About Microsoft Edge. |
| Mozilla Firefox | 156.x or higher | Click the menu with the three horizontal lines and select Help > About Firefox. |
The browser then automatically checks for updates and installs them.
Safari, Brave, Internet Explorer and Opera are not supported. An unsupported browser can lead to unexpected behaviour, functional limitations or delays. When an issue is reported, you may be asked to reproduce it in a supported browser first.
Creating a ticket with ISPnext
If the delay cannot be explained by the checks above, create a ticket via the Help Centre. ISPnext will then look along with a user who experiences the delay and afterwards carry out the same actions itself, so that both situations can be compared properly.
Therefore make sure that:
- the delay can be reproduced;
- the user can open the DevTools in the browser with F12. These show exactly where the delay occurs.
