Not yet familiar with the Idea Portal? Start by reading Welcome to the ISPnext Idea Portal for an introduction. Would you like to know how to use the portal? Below, you can find out how to find ideas from other customers, how to vote for the ideas that matter to you, and how to track their progress.
Community topics
The Idea Portal is organized into the following topics:
- Analytics
- AP Automation
- Contract Management
- Platform
- Procurement
- Sourcing
- Vendor Management
Each topic contains ideas related to that specific area. This makes it easier to find ideas relevant to the applications you use.
Browsing the community
You can browse the community in two ways:
- By topic: select one of the topics listed above to see only the ideas within that area.
- All posts: click the arrow beside Community, then select Show all posts, to see all community posts regardless of topic.
Sorting ideas
Within a topic, you can sort posts by newest, recent activity, votes, or comments:
- Newest: shows the most recently created ideas first.
- Recent activity: shows ideas with the most recent comments first.
- Votes: shows ideas with the most votes first.
Use the "Votes" sorting option to quickly see which feature requests are most supported by other key users.
Voting on ideas
Voting lets you show support for an idea without needing to leave a comment. You can upvote or downvote posts within the community.
Next to each idea, you'll see:
- An up arrow to upvote the idea.
- The current vote count.
- A down arrow to downvote the idea.
- A "Follow" button, to receive updates when something changes on the idea.

The more votes an idea receives, the more visible it becomes when sorted by votes. This helps our product teams understand which feature requests are most valuable to our customers.
Following an idea
Click "Follow" on an idea to stay updated. You'll be notified when the status changes, or when someone adds a comment.
Tracking the status of an idea
Ideas can be marked with a status, such as "Planned," "Not Planned," "Completed," or "Answered." This status is set by ISPnext and helps you track the progress of an idea.
Suggesting a new idea
You cannot submit an idea to the portal directly. Instead, follow these steps:
- Create a ticket and select "I have a Feature request" as the problem type.
- Describe your idea, including the problem it solves or the value it adds.
- Our support and product management team will evaluate your request.
- If approved, the team will submit the idea to the Idea Portal on your behalf.
This way, all ideas in the portal have already been reviewed before other customers can vote on them.
