Permission groups

Overview permission groups

In the overview of permission groups (click Setup > Platform > Permission groups) all columns of the permission groups can be seen:

Within the overview it is possible to sort some columns ascending/descending as desired.

The 'Type' column has additional filtering to show only Generic or only Company-specific rights groups:

The 'Permissions' column has additional filtering to show permission groups with a specific permission:

Via the "Search" field you can also search by title of the permission group or (part of the) name of the permissions themselves.

Create a new Permission Group

To add a new Permission Group or change an existing one, click the button in the Permission Group overview.
A new Permission Group can now be created. This page contains two tabs:

• Permission group
• Audit

Tab Permission Group

Permission groups are split into two types: Generic and Company-specific. Generic permission groups apply to all company numbers. Company-specific permission groups can only be assigned to specific company numbers, making it possible to give the user access to parts of the application for specific company numbers in addition to generic permissions.

• In the Permission Group tab, a unique name is entered under Description by which the Permission Group can be recognised. There are standard descriptions for Accounts Payable and the Application owner that should be adhered to:
  • accounts_payable
  • application_owner
• Under Permissions, tick which rights belong to this Permission Group.
• After saving the permission group, it will be visible in the list of active Permission Groups under Users.
• If a user has more than one Permission Group, his total access is determined by the sum of all permissions (all permissions are added together).
• In the ‘License’ column, it is possible to see which licenses apply to the permission. 

Tab Audit

In the Audit tab you can find a brief overview of the previous versions of this Permission Group, and when, by whom and why it was changed.
By clicking on one of the lines you can see how the Permission Group was set up at the time.
